The Children’s Mental Health Matters 2017 Campaign is a collaboration of the Mental Health Association of Maryland (MHAMD) and the Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) with support from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene – Behavioral Health Administration.
Emily Cook Therapy is proud to be a partner and community sponsor of the Children’s Mental Health Matters 2017 Campaign. Our philosophy of family-centered care includes the deep assertion that children’s mental health matters! That’s why we’re launching new therapy services for children and their families.
Starting in June 2017, our psychotherapy practice in downtown Bethesda, MD will offer play therapy for children ages 3 to 12, as well as support for parents through family therapy or parent coaching. Adolescents ages 12 to 18 are currently served by individual therapy and family therapy, and will also be able to benefit from the play therapy space. Our expert child therapists, adolescent counselors, and family therapists specialize in treating issues such as:
- ADD and ADHD
- anxiety
- behavior outbursts
- coping skills
- depression
- eating disorders
- family conflict
- grief and loss
- identity development
- intense emotions
- obsessive thoughts
- stress
- substance abuse by parents
- trauma
If your child is struggling, remember that your family is not alone — there is good help available to you and your child. Read about our family therapy and play therapy services, or download the Family Tool Kit offered by the Children’s Mental Health Matters 2017 Campaign.
